So......

Sorry for the brief absence. I have been going through a phase where I haven't felt much like writing. Instead, my mental energy has been consumed by decisions and anticipations and confrontations and intersections and frustrations. And I certainly haven't wanted to write about Myanmar--perhaps the brightest of my bright points in Asia--through any sort of misty, hazy, negative, overly-emotional veil.

And, as one of my favorite bloggers pointed out, sometimes writing about trips and amazing events can be more difficult than we might expect. I feel as though I have put an insane amount of pressure on myself to convey the Awesomeness that is Myanmar, which I don't think I will be able to do effectively. I have therefore given myself a case of the Writer's Block.

Ah, the curse of the Paralyzing Perfectionism.

Not to worry: that doesn't mean that you won't hear about my trip. You will, I promise. And I have a five day trip to Vietnam coming up in exactly one week (oh goody oh goody oh goody), which is one of the places in the world that I have always wanted to visit.

For now, I would like to leave you with this Mark Twain quote (since I've been all about the Mark Twain quotes lately):

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness."

Huzzah!
