2.) Holding a tiger cub's paw:
3.) Giving an elephant a forehead hug:
4.) Walking over the Bridge over the River Kwai (this last one especially...the bridge is very narrow and full of gaps large enough for a whole person to fit through as he plummets to the river below....there is an absolute dearth of handrails and an absolute plethora of tourists.....it was truly daunting, BUT....truly authentic!)
I certainly enjoyed my visit to Kanchanaburi. So much history and so many furry animals, all in one place. I also had a FABULOUS driver, "Mr. T," who answered all of my questions, half in English and half in Thai, and who also allowed me my quiet moments of introspection as we sped from one place to the next.
It was a truly fabulous day.

Okay. Okay, wait A MINUTE. First you're playing with deadly carnivores. Not in one picture, but in two. And then, as if to scream a challenge to the universe, "this is not dangerous enough!" you go and stand on railroad tracks. On a bridge.
Brooke, what sort of psychopathic tendencies have you developed there in that crazy land? It's okay, it's not your fault; the heat and humidity... it easily tricks the mind, like Aschenbach in "Death in Venice".
For the love of god, be careful.
