Holiday

I'm off in a few hours (and, um, not yet packed....whoops....) to spend a week in Chiang Mai, which is chock full o' monks, temples, elephants, jungle, inexpensive and beautiful things, and yummy khao soi. On my agenda? Spending three days learning how to TRAIN ELEPHANTS (in other words, I shall die and go to heaven for three days!!), bathe them, care for them, steer them, and paint with them. Yes, PAINT WITH THEM. Elephants are the greatest creatures in the world.

After my elephant adventure it is off to a zipline adventure, which involves zipping and dangling from the jungle canopy like a gibbon. Whee!!

After the zipline adventure it will be time to explore Chiang Mai, do some Christmas shopping at the phenomenal night market, and attend a "monk chat" at a temple. I will probably cap this off by eating fresh seafood with a riverside view.

My Internet access will be limited (you know....mahout lodges and jungle canopies are not the best place for modern conveniences!!), but I'll post some fabulous pics when I can!! I'm so excited.

Happy Trails.....
